How does an “Apple” pick the perfect swimwear? We’re obviously not talking about fruit. An Apple is one of the common body types. How do you determine if your shape is an Apple? Just take your body measurements and compare your bust and hip numbers. Apple shapes have a bust measurement that’s at least 3″ greater than the hip measurement.

To look like an hourglass, what kind of swimwear should you purchase? If you can find one that will de-emphasize your bust and draw the eyes down to your bottom, that would work. Cup size is another important area to consider. In most cases, Apple shapes have larger breasts sizes…C cup, D cup and larger is the norm. So the bikini top must provide both great support and de-emphasize. That sounds like a tall order. However, it’s not if you know what kind of swimwear to look at.

Underwire and Halter tops are the way to go for the Apple shape. Both provide support and shape for large busts. Either remove the padding or purchase Underwire tops without them. Otheriwise you will look bigger than you already are. You would be drawing attention to your bust which is not the effect you want. The Banded Halter is a special kind of Halter top. This style has a wide fabric “band” going all around under the bust which adds more support than the typical Halter top. For color choice, ideally a solid dark color will de-emphasize.

To draw eyes to your bottom, you want fabric and, if possible, some embellishments to go along with it. When we mean fabric, we’re talking about avoiding the tiny string bikinis. Believe it or not, string bikini bottoms actually make your hips look slimmer. The Apple shape should try to make her hips look a little curvier. A hipster bottom is more in line with creating that effect. Make color choices that are bright. Solid and patterns are both great (a solid color top with a patterned bottom is ideal). Want some ideal bottom choices? Look for ruffles, ruching, shirring, rhinestones, beads, and metal rings.

So don’t fear or shy away from picking out a real hot bikini or one piece swimsuit.  You can definitely look and feel confident and sexy on the beach, at the pool, and wherever else you want to wear your sexy swimwear.
