A couple of weeks ago my daughter celebrated her birthday and she received a fantastic hair styling kit from one of her Aunts.
It is a brilliant product as it seamlessly manages to transform her usually lifeless straight hair to a mass of curly hair. It is absolutely brilliant and such an easy product to use that I wish it had been around when I was younger. The instructions are so easy to follow and they guide you effortlessly through the simple process of how to curl hair.
It got me reminising about the numerous hair styles I had when I was younger.
During my teen years I will admit to colouring my hair. I liked to be a bit different and didn’t use normal hair dye products. No I coloured my hair using green food colouring stolen from my mum’s food cupboard.

Due to the rapidly changing world of what is in and what is not when it comes to teenage fashion – not to mention the transient tastes of our beloved juvenile generation – we often approach with fear the thought of buying the right fashion clothing they will like. This being the case, if you are thinking of buying a fashion related gift for a teenager, it may well be best to consider an accessory related purchase for them, rather than the latest pair of Armani jeans you have just seen advertised.
Fashion accessory items such as a bracelet, purse, scarf or bag are probably going to be more appreciated by the teenager as they rely slightly less on personal taste and generally won’t have any problems with size or fit which clothing may have, especially with differences between brands. Accessories are also generally easier to refund or exchange if they are not suitable than ladies jeans or underwear which may have a stricter policy on returns.
A great fashion accessory item that could well be the perfect gift for a teenager is a leather handbag. This can really represent a sense of style for the recipient and a lady can never have enough bags, can she?! A bright colourful handbag such as pink or lime green can show a happy and cheerful side to the teenager. A handbag with strong patterns and design can indicate strength of character. You can always guarantee she will like the gift by going to the stores with the teenager in mind, however this will obviously prevent the look of surprise and delight of giving the wrapped gift at the perfect time.
Shopping online is becoming ever more popular and can help with not just researching the latest products but also in securing the lowest price for virtually any fashion gift item out there. So have fun choosing the gift for your teenager and don’t forget you can always ask her friends for advice or clues if you really want to make sure it is exactly what she would like.
